About Cureator

The knowledge is already there. Cureator makes it accessible again.

Every radiotherapy treatment adds valuable data and experience: imaging, contours, treatment plans, dose data and clinical information. In practice, these relationships are distributed across different systems and data objects.

Cureator Foundation emerged from the question of how this knowledge can be made accessible again as a complete case context.

Origin and development

From Semantic DICOM to Cureator Foundation.

The technological basis behind Cureator has evolved through several research and development stages. From the outset, the central question was the same: How can medical data be linked in such a way that not individual files or objects, but the complete context becomes accessible?

Semantically model DICOM data

A research paper with SOHARD involvement investigates how DICOM metadata and calculated image features can be semantically described and queried in their context. The approach demonstrates early on that medical data can be used not just as individual files, but as a linked knowledge structure.

Connecting clinical, DICOM, and radiomics data

The semantic foundation is extended to further data domains. A published Medical Physics paper connects clinical information, DICOM metadata, and radiomics features on a common semantic basis.

Practice · SeDi

From research to deployed software

With SeDi, the semantic foundation is transferred into a real clinical environment. Its use in Singen directly incorporates concrete requirements from radiotherapy into the further development of the software.

Today · Cureator Foundation

From concept to today's product

Cureator Foundation continues this development as a current commercial product. The platform connects accessible radiotherapy and selected clinical data from existing systems, making complete treatment contexts searchable, comparable, and reusable.

How we develop Cureator

Make clinical knowledge more accessible. The decision remains with the human expert.

Cureator aims to make expert knowledge more usable without replacing existing clinical systems or the professional responsibility of individuals.

Respect existing systems

Cureator complements PACS, TPS, OIS, and KIS/HIS via defined interfaces. Existing core clinical systems are retained.

Connections instead of data silos

Patient, imaging, structures, plan, dose, and selected clinical information are mapped as an interconnected case context.

Expertise remains with the human

Cureator provides data, visualizations, and metrics. Clinical evaluation and approval remain with qualified specialist personnel.

Visible in the product

Case search, viewer, DVH, plan comparison, controlled sharing and technical documentation make Cureator’s core capabilities directly verifiable.

Practice partnership

Developed with real clinical requirements.

Cureator is continuously developed in collaboration with clinical users. Radiotherapy Center Singen has worked with the technology since its SeDi phase and today serves as a pilot and development partner.

Use in production brings concrete requirements and experience from daily radiotherapy practice directly into further development.

Cureator Foundation is developed by SOHARD Software GmbH. SOHARD is the manufacturer and contractual entity and bears long-term technical and product responsibility for Cureator.

The development lineage extends from the semantic research foundation, through SeDi, to today's Cureator Foundation.

  • Since 2014 Published research on semantic modeling of medical data
  • SOHARD Software GmbH Development and long-term product responsibility
  • In clinical use Productive installation in radiotherapy
  • Continuous further development Product development with requirements from clinical practice

Cureator today

Every radiotherapy plan tells a story. Cureator keeps every part connected.

Cureator Foundation connects imaging, structures, treatment plans, dose data and selected clinical information across existing systems.

Teams can find relevant historical cases through their clinical context, review connected case data, compare plans and reuse selected data for review, research and external AI workflows.

Your radiotherapy knowledge, connected.
