Research, standards and evidence.

Cureator’s semantic approach builds on published research, DICOM interoperability and standards-based data modelling. This page presents the scientific foundations and technical evidence behind the platform.

From Semantic DICOM to Cureator Foundation.

The following publications form part of the scientific foundation behind Cureator’s semantic approach. They show how DICOM metadata, ontologies, RDF, SPARQL and FAIR-oriented data structures have been used in research contexts. Current Cureator capabilities are evidenced separately through product and technical documentation.

Towards a semantic PACS: Using Semantic Web technology to represent imaging data

This paper examines how DICOM metadata and calculated imaging features can be represented with RDF and queried through SPARQL. It forms part of the scientific foundation for Cureator’s semantic data model. Current product capabilities are documented separately in the product documentation.

Vorschau: Ontologies in radiation oncology

Ontologies in radiation oncology

This review examines ontologies in radiation oncology, including the Radiation Oncology Ontology and Semantic DICOM. It shows how shared concepts and relationships can support the semantic use of radiotherapy data. The work forms part of the domain foundation behind Cureator’s semantic approach.

FAIR-compliant clinical, radiomics and DICOM metadata of RIDER, interobserver, Lung1 and head-Neck1 TCIA collections

This paper shows how clinical data, radiomics features and DICOM metadata can be published and queried semantically in a FAIR-oriented research context. Cureator’s approach builds on this standards-based foundation. The paper does not by itself evidence current product capabilities or clinical outcomes.

Research data

Study comparable cases and cohorts.

Cureator can support the identification of cohorts from connected radiotherapy and selected clinical data and provide selected datasets for further analysis. The diagnoses, findings, follow-up or outcome data that can be included depend on available interfaces, site-specific modelling, permissions and data quality.
